Blackhawk entered the knife market in 2003 when the award-winning Masters of Defense (MOD) knife company joined Blackhawk Products Group. A leader in the tactical Knife industry, MOD distinguished itself as the only manufacturer to have all of its knives designed by expert knife tacticians. It is still Blackhawk’s ‘elite’ knife brand and is proudly made in the USA.

Based on feedback from our core customers, we later applied MOD’s distinctive design philosophy to our Blackhawk line of knives, expanding our selection of high-quality tactical tools to include globally-sourced products.

An example is the’MOD Beshsra XSF-1’ designed by former Canadian special operations soldier and knife maker Brent Beshara, the XSF-1 (pronounced ‘ex-cessive one’) is the ultimate evolution of the combat dagger. Half dagger and half crowbar, it is based on ‘Besh Wedge Technology’ - a unique triple-edged point design – that offers the supreme combination of penetration and tip strength.
